Suffield, CT - July 30, 2007 - Ron Coburn, Chairman and CEO of Savage Sports Corp.,
in Westfield, MA was elected Man Of The Year by the Shooting Industry Academy Of Excellence at their 16th.
annual awards presentation in Ontario, CA on July 27th.
Ron was nominated "for his determination to transform Savage Arms from a company in bankruptcy to a leading
rifle manufacturer. For his wisdom to focus on just one product and make it better than anyone else. For
daring to introduce revolutionary new products such as the AccuTrigger and the astuteness to offer products
previously only available through custom gunmakers, such as the right bolt/left port varmint rifle. For the
compassion to become actively involved in such organizations as Paralyzed Veterans of America the 4H."
The Shooting Industry Academy Of Excellence was formed in 1992. Their awards are voted on by the 500
voting members which include industry executives, firearms dealers and outdoor writers.
