Allison's Jalapeno Popper Wild Turkey Salad

It’s hard to beat turkey as a wild game meat in the kitchen. With turkey season right around the corner, I thought I would share one of my favorite wild turkey recipes...Jalapeno Popper Turkey Salad. Who doesn’t like a meal that includes cheese, bacon and hot sauce?  Pass it around at turkey camp for a real crowd pleaser people won’t forget.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of crispy bacon, crumbled
  • 3 jalapenos diced, stem & seeds removed
  • 5 green onions (or half a white or red onion)
  • 4 cups cooked turkey, shredded or chopped. (I cubed a breast into the instant pot, added 1/2 cup of bbq sauce and hit the “poultry” setting.)
  • 1 cup  shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup  mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3-4 tsp of hot sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add turkey, bacon, jalapenos, green onions, and cheese.
  2. Add mayo, cream cheese, and salt, and pepper to taste.
  3. Stir until completely mixed.
  4. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
  5. Top with extra bacon or green onions and for an extra spicy kick drizzle with your favorite hot sauce
