How to Adjust the A22 Takedown Cheek Piece
When a rifle fits you, you’ll shoot better and more accurately. One major aspect of rifle fitment is the comb height. The comb is where your cheek rests on the stock, and it’s important for properly lining up your eye with your scope or sights. If you have to crouch your head down to get a good sight picture, the comb height is too high, and you need to lower it. If you have to strain your neck upwards causing your cheek to lose firm contact with the stock, the comb height is too low, and you need to raise it. The Savage A22 Takedown comes with two sets of spacers, which allow you to adjust the comb height for a better fitting rifle. This guide will walk you through how to adjust the A22 Takedown cheek piece.
WARNING! Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Make sure your firearm is completely unloaded and ensure that your workspace is void of ammunition at all times. The safety should be set to the Full Safe position. Safety glasses should be worn.

- Ensure that the firearm is clear of ammunition
- Set the safety to the full safe position
- Using a 3/32” Allen wrench, loosen and remove the two screws in the top of the cheek piece

When the spacers are not in use, they can be stored on the pegs in the buttstock storage compartment.
