A crisp, clean trigger minimizes the negative influence a shooter can have on accuracy. Traditionally, in most factory rifles, manufacturers set trigger pull weights excessively high due to safety concerns. When a trigger pull weight is too light, it increases the risk of accidental discharge if the gun is jarred or dropped. When a trigger pull weight is too heavy, it is difficult to place an accurate shot, especially at longer distances. The Savage AccuTrigger is different. It’s the first factory trigger design to have minimal sear engagement to safely allow a light, crisp trigger break. This lighter trigger pull weight can be accomplished by the addition of the AccuRelease blade to the trigger design.  The AccuRelease blade adds a level of safety by blocking the movement of the sear and not allowing the firing pin to move if the rifle is accidentally jarred or dropped, assuming the rifle has been properly serviced and maintained. Additionally, the AccuTrigger lets the shooter easily adjust the pull weight to suit their personal preferences without sacrificing safety or paying a gunsmith. Follow these steps to learn how to adjust the AccuTrigger on a Savage B.MAG with a laminate stock.

WARNING! Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Make sure your firearm is completely unloaded and ensure that your workspace is void of ammunition at all times. The safety should be set to the Full Safe position.

How to Adjust the AccuTrigger on B.MAG with Laminate Stock

1. Place the safety selector into the full safe position. 
2. Remove the magazine and the bolt.
3. With the firearm upside down, remove the trigger guard using a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws attaching it to the stock.
4. Using a 5/32” hex wrench, remove the action screws. Detach the stock from the barreled action. On some models, the screws are captive in the stock and will be retained.
5. Grasping the AccuTrigger adjustment knob, pull it upward.
6. To adjust the trigger weight higher, rotate the knob clockwise. You will feel a click when it is set to the maximum.
7. To adjust the trigger weight lower, rotate the knob counterclockwise. Stop when you feel the tension increase. The weight is now set to its minimum.
8. To check the trigger weight setting, insert the bolt and close it. Place the safety selector into the fire position and dry fire the firearm .
9. Remove the bolt and place the action into the stock being sure to clear the AccuTrigger adjustment knob. 
10. Reinstall both action screws and torque it to 40 in-lbs.
11. Reinstall the trigger guard and screws. These screws need only to be finger tight. Overtightening these may damage the stock or trigger guard.
12. Reinsert the bolt and cycle several times to be sure that it functions properly.
13. Verify that all positions of the safety function properly. When the safety is in the full safe position the trigger should have no movement when pressed.
14. Reinstall the magazine.
