Making it Rain Outdoors | Savage Journeys
It all started in 1991 when Rain was born with deer antlers and fish scales—at least, that’s what her dad tells her! Actually, it started way before that, considering Rain’s outdoor background is generational. It dates back to the 1800s when her great-great-grandparents were hunting and fishing. From a great-grandmother who loved to fish to a granddad who was an avid deer, rabbit, and raccoon hunter, their passions paved the way for Rain’s dad, the most influential figure in her hunting and fishing endeavors. Rain’s mother was also introduced to the outdoors by her father. This family legacy continues with the family Rain has created: a husband from New York and three sons, and spread to the world through Rain Outdoors.
A Different World
Rain’s husband Jason is from the inner city of New York and had never been hunting or fishing until he met Rain. The story of how they met is one for another day, but for now, let’s just say it was love at first bait. Rain taught Jason everything she knew about the outdoors. Together, they expanded their knowledge and passed it on to their children. Their three boys, still fairly young, have embraced the outdoor lifestyle. Like Rain, it was introduced to them very young, so it’s just a way of life for them. The boys love fishing and are now preparing for their first harvest. Hunting and fishing never changed for Rain and Jason; they just learned to either incorporate the kids or take turns when going out on hunts.
Now that the kids are older, it’s a must that they join in on the adventures. Not only because it’s what Rain and Jason love, but because the kids love it just as much! Being a family in the outdoors is simply amazing to them. Seeing the excitement on their kids’ faces when catching a fish is priceless. Rain remembers the things her dad once taught her, like identifying animal tracks, and now she can share that with the kids. They believe that being a family in the outdoors brings many life lessons—patience, resilience, and admiration for nature, just to name a few. Whether they’re strolling through pine-scented trees or feeling the exhilaration of watching the sunrise on a still lake, the outdoors captures their hearts like nothing else. Jason and Rain hope their children will keep the legacy alive by passing it on to their future children.
Rain Outdoors
Rain Outdoors began when Jason suggested that Rain show the world her love for the outdoors, proving that women do indeed hunt and fish. They took to social media and started creating videos of their outdoor adventures, but with a twist. Rain, who loves to laugh and see others happy, wanted to show more than just hunting and fishing. She wanted to bring humor and smiles, hoping people would learn to love the outdoors as she does while still having fun. Rain Outdoors is growing every day and has reached many different people from diverse backgrounds across the world.
The Future of Rain Outdoors
The future of Rain Outdoors is an ever-evolving landscape of endless possibilities. They will continue inviting the world on their many adventures and strive to inspire others to become active outdoors. Rain recently released her first children’s outdoor coloring and activity book, Rain Outdoors Into the Wild, with hopes of getting more children interested in experiencing the great outdoors. They expect to accomplish more great things in the years to come. Although they have been active on social media for five years now, they believe their journey has just begun.
