This guide will show you how to install the AccuCan AC30 on your firearm and how to perform basic maintenance functions of disassembling, cleaning, and reassembly to ensure a long-lasting and high-performing life for your Savage suppressor.

WARNING: Never install on or remove the AccuCan from a loaded firearm. The magazine must be removed from the firearm and the chamber empty before installing or removing the AccuCan. Do not alter, modify or replace any of the parts of your suppressor. Failure to follow this warning can result in improper function of your suppressor and/or serious injury or death to you or others. It may also be against the law.

How to Install AccuCan AC30

To install the AC30, simply thread it onto the muzzle threads of your firearm.

The AccuCan should be threaded onto the firearm firmly hand tight.  This should be between 25 ft-lbs. and 40 ft-lbs.

It’s best practice to use an alignment rod  that is dropped through the barrel when the suppressor is attached to verify that it drops freely. Alignment rods are inexpensive and a great way to ensure you won’t damage your suppressor.

Ensure the suppressor is correctly oriented for installation and removal, with only one proper alignment. Prior to usage, it is essential to securely affix the suppressor onto the firearm. Failing to do so may lead to potential damage to both your firearm and the suppressor.

Conduct a visual inspection of the suppressor post-installation to verify that it is perfectly aligned with the centerline of the bore and not tilted in any way. Should you observe any misalignment between the suppressor and the bore, immediately halt the installation process and contact our Customer Service Department.

Utilizing the suppressor when it is improperly mounted could resulted in irreversible damage to your suppressor, resulting in suboptimal performance and diminished accuracy.

Suppressors are VERY HOT under fire. Never attempt to see if the suppressor is tight soon after it has been fired, as there is nothing that can protect your hand while grabbing a metal object that is as hot as a suppressor can get. It is always safest to allow the suppressor to cool all the way to room temperature to check that it is still torqued in place.

How to Disassemble the AccuCan AC30

Tools Required

  • 1” wrench or socket (mount)
  • 1 ¼” wrench or socket (tube)

Ensure that the AccuCan has cooled to ambient temperature before disassembly or cleaning begins.

  1. Secure the 1” socket and driver or wrench in a vice. This will serve as the holding point for the mount portion of the suppressor.
To disassemble the AC30, begin by securing the 1” socket and driver or wrench in a vice, as shown. This will serve as the holding point for the mount portion of the suppressor.
  2. Using a driver and a 1 ¼” socket or a 1 ¼” wrench, unthread the suppressor tube. It will take some force to unthread the suppressor tube.

    1. If the tube seems very hard to remove, you may put some solvent or oil into the suppressor in order to aid disassembly. This may happen if the suppressor has not been maintained properly. Maintaining the suppressor often will prevent this from happening for the most part.

    2. When unthreading the tube, it is common to see  material in the threads. This is normal and can be cleaned with a small amount of firearm solvent of your choice and a nylon brush.
  3. Once the tube is unthreaded, it will pull away from the rest of the suppressor assembly. What is left is the MonoKore threaded into the mount. It is not necessary to remove the MonoKore from the mount unless there's a mechanical problem with the parts. If this is the case, contact customer service at Savage Arms and an experienced technician will instruct you what to do or have you send the suppressor into the Savage Arms Service Department for inspections or repair.

How to Clean the AccuCan AC30

Once apart, the only things you need to clean are the deposits off the interior and the exterior surfaces of the MonoKore and the interior surfaces of the tube. Use only firearm solvent, nylon brushes, and rags/towels. Do not use metal brushes of any kind.

Always disassemble the AccuCan to clean it.  Do not run a patch through the bore of the assembled AccuCan as pieces of it could get stuck inside and cause a bore obstruction if it is fired.

How to Assemble the AccuCan AC30

Note: The suppressor must be dried before reassembly.

  1. In order to reinstall the tube properly, it must be torqued to 30 foot pounds.
  2. Slide the tube over the MonoKore and thread the tube until it seats against the mount.
  3. Using a torque wrench and the 1 ¼” socket, torque the tube into place.

Using a torque wrench and the 1 ¼” socket, torque the tube into place.

When assembly is completed, the suppressor is ready to be used again. The AC30 should be maintained in this way each time after a range day if possible. If the AC30 is not at a minimum disassembled in the described way between range days, carbon deposits can build up in the interior surfaces of the suppressor and harden making disassembly progressively more difficult.

Never add any foreign substances into the AccuCan during reassembly.
