A crisp, clean trigger minimizes the negative influence a shooter can have on accuracy. Traditionally, in most factory rifles, manufacturers set trigger pull weights excessively high due to safety concerns. When a trigger pull weight is too light, it increases the risk of accidental discharge if the gun is jarred or dropped. When a trigger pull weight is too heavy, it is difficult to place an accurate shot, especially at longer distances. The Savage AccuTrigger is different. It’s the first factory trigger design to have minimal sear engagement to safely allow a light, crisp trigger break. This lighter trigger pull weight can be accomplished by the addition of the AccuRelease blade to the trigger design.  The AccuRelease blade adds a level of safety by blocking the movement of the sear and not allowing the firing pin to move if the rifle is accidentally jarred or dropped, assuming the rifle has been properly serviced and maintained. Additionally, the AccuTrigger lets the shooter easily adjust the pull weight to suit their personal preferences without sacrificing safety or paying a gunsmith. Follow these steps to learn how to adjust the AccuTrigger on Savage A Series rifles.
