Before the Traveling AccuFit begins its adventure hunting all over the country, it makes a stop in Casper, WY with Ben Gorman of ShedNecks. Gorman uses his expertise in tuning up factory rifles to set up the Savage 110 Long Range Hunter in 280 Ackley for the Traveling AccuFit hunters this fall.

After mounting the Bushnell Nitro scope on the 110 Long Range Hunter, Gorman took the rifle out to the range to shoot. At the range, he has three objectives: sight in the rifle, chronograph the ammo, and break in the barrel. After shooting at 50 yards, Gorman stretched the rifle out to longer ranges to ensure that it will shoot accurately and on target for all of our hunters this fall, no matter what game they're chasing.

As he shoots to sight in, Gorman is also chronographing the Hornady Precision ammo. Chronographing and patterning the ammo allows shooters to order a custom ballistics dial.

Ben Gorman is setting up the Traveling AccuFit rifle for its hunting adventures later this fall.

While he's sighting in the rifle and chronographing the ammo, Gorman is also breaking in the barrel. A barrel break in procedure isn't required, many hunters and shooters like to go through the process of cleaning the barrel between shots on a new rifle.

All of these steps help increase the accuracy potential for the rifle, which is important to any hunter or shooter.

The only thing the Traveling AccuFit hunters will have to do when they receive the rifle is adjust the AccuFit's length of pull and comb height to fit them perfectly. They'll also shoot the rifle several times to verify zero and get accustomed to the 110 Long Range Hunter. "I really like the idea of the AccuFit stock because it's going to go to a multitude of different shooters, different body sizes, different ages, men, women and kids. The whole stock is adjustable to fit really anyone. All in all, a great package. Everyone is really going to enjoy it," says Gorman.
