James Sanders
Born in Texas and raised in a military family, James Sanders aka Big Black BBQ embarked on a journey that took him across the globe. It was amidst these travels that he discovered his passion for BBQ, learning the art from his uncle and grandfather. Despite his family's nomadic lifestyle, hunting wasn't a tradition until later in life.
During his time in the Air Force, James crossed paths with avid hunters who introduced him to the world of venison. Sampling smoked backstraps ignited a newfound love for hunting within him. In 2018, armed with his Savage 110, James harvested his first buck, marking the beginning of a fervent pursuit.
Today, James traverses the country in pursuit of his passion, primarily seeking deer, antelope, and elk. Each expedition offers not only the thrill of the hunt but also an opportunity to connect with nature in its purest form.
