A22 Takedown Compartments for Storage
The Savage A22 Takedown is the ultimate go-anywhere, outdoor adventure, truck, ranch or backpacking semi-auto rimfire rifle. It breaks down easily to transport in a pack, has an adjustable cheek piece for a better fitting rifle, and two storage compartments. This guide is a quick tour of the A22 Takedown compartments.
WARNING! Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Make sure your firearm is completely unloaded and ensure that your workspace is void of ammunition at all times. The safety should be set to the Full Safe position. Safety glasses should be worn.
Models
Before accessing any of the storage compartments on the A22 Takedown, make sure the firearm is safe:
- Remove the magazine
- Lock the bolt open
- Ensure the firearm is clear of ammunition
- Set the safety to the full safe position
Buttstock Storage Compartment
- Press the latch near the rear of the cheek piece
- Lift the cheek piece of the buttstock to access extra magazine storage
The buttstock storage compartment is where you’ll find space to store three extra 10-round rotary magazines. This is also where you will find the two pairs of spacers to adjust the comb height of the cheek piece. Learn how to adjust the A22 Takedown cheek piece.
Pistol Grip Dry Storage
- Depress the latch
- Lift out the cap
The storage compartment in the pistol grip is sealed with an O-ring to keep the contents inside dry.
