How to Adjust the MDT ACC Chassis

The ability to adjust the stocks on Savage’s precision rifles is a great innovation. The Elite Precision series of rifles takes this to the next level adding with even more adjustments as well as allowing for most adjustments to be made without the use of tools. The better a rifle fits a shooter, the more accurate and comfortable they will be. This step-by-step guide will show you how to make all adjustments to the MDT ACC Chassis that is found on both the 110 Elite Precision and the Impulse Elite Precision.

MODELS

WARNING! Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Make sure your firearm is completely unloaded and ensure that your workspace is void of ammunition at all times. The safety should be set to the Full Safe position.

HOW TO ADJUST LENGTH OF PULL ON THE MDT ACC CHASSIS

Adjusting the length of pull is essential to rifle fit and function. The better a rifle fits the shooter, the more accurate they will be. Length of pull refers to the length between trigger and the part of the rifle that contacts the shooter. It can be adjusted on the MDT ACC Chassis as follows.

How to adjust the mdt acc chassis

  1. Place the safety selector into the full safe position. 
  2. Remove the magazine and open the bolt.
  3. Loosen thumb screws B and C (These do not need to be removed for adjustment).  
  4. Once the screws are loosened spin the adjustment wheel clockwise to increase length of pull.
  5. Once the desired LOP has been achieved retighten thumbscrews B and C to lock in the adjustment.
    1. Note, the thumbscrews can be installed on either side of the firearm based on user preference. 

HOW TO ADJUST COMB HEIGHT ON THE MDT ACC CHASSIS

Just as with length of pull, how well the shooters head contacts the rifle is important to ensuring the shooter is in the best possible position on the rifle. The height of the rifles comb can be adjusted to accomodate just about any shooter.

Comb height

  1. Loosen thumb stocks labeled D & E. These do not need to be removed for adjustment. 
  2. Rotate the adjustment wheel counter clockwise to raise the cheek piece and counter clockwise to lower. 
  3. Once the desired comb height is achieved retighten thumbscrews D & E to lock in your adjustment

HOW TO ADJUST PLACEMENT HEIGHT ON THE MDT ACC CHASSIS

The cheek piece is the part of the rifle that contacts the head of the shooter and its adjustment from side to side allows for the best alignment for each shooter.

How to adjust placement height

  1. Using a 1/8 Allen wrench loosen the two Allen screws located at the top of the check piece. Do not remove these fully as there is a nut located under the cheek piece. 
  2. After the screws are loosened the check piece can be slid both front to back as well as side to side to allow for perfect alignment.
  3. Once the proper position is achieved tighten the screws to lock in adjustment. Be sure to not over tighten these screws. 

HOW TO ADJUST BUTTPAD ON THE MDT ACC CHASSIS

A feature that is unique in the Savage lineup to the Elite Precision models is the fully adjustable buttpad that can be adjusted for height and cant to achieve the best possible fit to the shooter. 

Buttpad adjustment

  1. To adjust butt pad height simply loosen thumb screw A which will allow the butt pad to be move up approximately 2 inches or down approximately .6 inches. 
  2. To adjust the cant of the buttpad it will first need to be removed.
  3. Loosen or remove the thumb screw as well as the set screw that is in the same location on the opposite side of the rifle. The buttpad will then be able to slide down and be removed from the stock. (Note: Some early models will not have the set screw installed.) 
  4. Once the buttpad is removed you will have access to the two recessed Allen screws.How to adjust the buttpad on the MDT ACC Chassis
  5. Use a 1/8” Allen wrench to loosen the two screws in the recesses. This will allow for 5 degrees of cant adjustment in either direction. 
  6. Once the desired position is achieved tighten both screws. 
  7. Slide the buttpad back onto the stock and retighten the thumbscrew and set screw with the buttpad at your desired height. 

HOW TO ADJUST THE GRIP ON THE MDT ACC CHASSIS

Another feature unique in the Elite Precision in the Savage lineup is the adjustable grip. This allows the shooter to ensure a comfortable reach to the trigger for precision shooting. How to adjust the grip on the MDT ACC Chasis

  1. To adjust simply loosen the two Allen screws allowing the grip to be moved front to rear as well as angled for shooter preference. 
  2. Once the desired position is achieved retighten both Allen screws to lock in the new position.
