What features are most important to you in a rifle? Is it a selection of specific calibers? Barrel length? Having a threaded barrel? Or maybe, it’s adjustability to fit the rifle perfectly to you. Enter AccuFit V2, the next evolution of the AccuFit adjustment system included on the all-new Model 110

AccuFit V2 provides easy, toolless adjustments for length of pull and comb height, all controlled by a single dial at the bottom of the stock. It’s our most intuitive, easy to use stock adjustment system yet. In this blog, we’ll give you an overview of everything you need to know about AccuFit V2, and how to make the adjustments to get your rifle dialed in for the perfect fit.

AccuFit V2 Overview

We first introduced AccuFit in 2018 on the Model 110 rifle line. It was the first introduction for Savage into a fully adjustable stock, straight from the factory. While effective, adjustments were time consuming, requiring tools, a bench, and time to find your right fit. With AccuFit V2, we turned up the adjustability and turned down the complexity. There are three zones of adjustment

  • Length of pull: The length of pull is adjustable from 12.75” when fully compact to 13.75” when full extended. Adjustment increments are in 1/8”, and the stock has lines indicating each increment so you can easily note what length best fits you.
  • Comb height: Comb height is adjustable up to 0.75”, with adjustment in 1/16” increments and line spacing every 1/8”.
  • Grip modules: There are three different grip modules available with AccuFit V2. All rifles will ship with the medium grip module installed and will also include a large and small grip module. These can be easily swapped out to help you achieve a more comfortable grip, helping make your rifle easier and more comfortable to shoot.

Length of pull and comb height adjustments are controlled via the Quick Set Dial (QSD). This dial, located on the bottom of the stock, can be depressed and rotated to make your adjustments. This makes adjusting your length of pull and comb height incredibly easy and allows you to quickly set up your rifle for use by different shooters in no time.

Adjusting Length of Pull

Adjusting length of pull on your AccuFit V2 stock is quick and simple, with just a couple easy steps needed!

  1. Depress the QSD. For the best results, press your thumb into the shelf on the side of the stock and use your fingers to depress the dial. Do not press on the top of the comb piece while attempting to depress the dial.
  2. Adjust your length of pull to the desired length, checking the comfort of shouldering your rifle and ensuring you have the correct eye relief in your scope.

Here are a few tips to help make adjusting your length of pull easier:

  • The butt pad and connected adjustment piece are under spring tension and will extend to the maximum length when the dial is pressed. You adjust your length of pull by either allowing the stock to extend to its maximum distance, and then pushing the butt pad in, or by pressing the butt pad against a hard, sturdy surface, then depressing the QSD, and then pulling the rifle away slightly to slowly extend the stock.
  • When pushing the butt pad in, it is best to push it against a hard, sturdy surface like a bench. When you’re adjusting the length of pull, make sure your muzzle is pointed in a safe direction.
  • You can also adjust the length of pull while positioned behind the rifle in a shooting position. Simply press the rifle against your shoulder, reach under the stock with your off hand and depress the QSD, and then either move the rifle slightly forward or back off the rifle slightly to extend length of pull.
  • The butt pad can only be extended while the dial is depressed. Once you have made the proper adjustment, release the QSD to lock in your length of pull.

Adjusting Comb Height

If you thought the length of pull adjustment was easy, then you’ll love adjusting your comb height! With AccuFit V2, it’s as simple as turning a dial.

  1. Turn the QSD counterclockwise to raise the comb height, and clockwise to lower it. One full rotation will raise or lower the comb 1/16”.
  2. Adjust your comb height until you have the correct sight picture in your optic.

Here are a few extra tips for adjusting your comb height:

  • Comb height adjustment is not available on Trophy Series rifles. It is only available for Core Series, Pro Series, and Ultralite rifles.
  • If you lack the finger dexterity to turn the dial, you can also use a 5/64” hex wrench to turn the dial.
  • Like length of pull, lines are molded into the stock to indicate every 1/8” adjustment to help you easily mark and remember the correct comb height for you.
  • Adjust your comb height first to make sure you are at the right eye level for your optic. Then adjust your length of pull to get the correct eye relief.

Swapping Grip Modules

The grip module may seem like a subtle adjustment, or even an afterthought to some, but it can help make the difference between a rifle that feels “okay” and a rifle that feels great in the hand. Here’s how you adjust the grip module on your new 110 with AccuFit V2.

  1. Use a 5/64” hex wrench to take out the set screw on the bottom of the grip.
  2. Remove the existing grip from the rifle. Choose one of the other two grips that the rifle ships with and insert that grip module into the front of the grip/
  3. Test out the fit and retighten the module when you are satisfied.

Most shooters will only swap their modules out once when they first get their rifle, but the easy screw in system allows you to easily make changes if another person is using your rifle on a hunt or at the range.

When we set out to update the Model 110, AccuFit V2 was at the top of the board of ideas to implement. Why? It’s simple, we wanted the Model 110 to be the most consumer friendly, adjustable rifle on the market. Toolless adjustments that are easy and repeatable make the 110 the perfect family rifle, an excellent option for guides and outfitters, or a rifle that can grow with your youth hunter from their first trip to the range to their own first hunt with their kids. With AccuFit V2, the Model 110 has become more adjustable, more comfortable, and more accessible for all hunters and shooters to achieve their perfect fit.
