How To Remove the Bolt with a Side Bolt Release

The bolt release connects to the mechanism which will allow the bolt to be removed from the rifle's receiver. On some models, this button is located above the stock along the right rear of the receiver on right hand models (along the left rear of the receiver on left hand models). The steps outlined below will walk you through how to remove the bolt assembly from rifles with the side bolt release. 

Whenever cleaning or working on your firearm, be sure that it is fully unloaded and clear of ammunition. Safety should be your #1 concerns while around firearms.

• 110 Scout, 110 Haymaker, 110 Ridge Warrior
• 110 Tactical, 110 Tactical Left Hand, 110 Tactical Desert, 110 Tactical Desert Left Hand
• 110 Long Range Hunter 338 Lapua
• 110 Elite Precision, 110 Elite Precision Left Hand, 110 Precision, 110 Precision Left Hand
• 10 GRS
• Axis and Axis II
• Most Model 12 and 112 Magnum Target
• Other legacy models

Removal Steps:

1. Safely remove the magazine. Check to make sure your firearm is fully unloaded and clear of ammunition
2. Push the bolt forward and move the safety to the fire position
3. Open the bolt and pull it fully rearward
4. Depress the thumb sear while pressing the trigger
5. Pull the bolt rearward to remove

Reinstallation Steps:

1. Depress the thumb sear while pressing the trigger
2. Reinsert the bolt and close
3. Move the safety to the SAFE position and reinstall the magazine
