This year for International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the outdoors and those who make it a better place for all. We want to shine a spotlight on some amazing women in the outdoors – leaders, role models, mentors, mothers, sisters, and daughters – by sharing their stories, words of advice and encouragement for other women. We want to uplift and empower all the women who share the outdoors. One of the women we are proud to call our friend at Savage is Teri Quinn. This is her story!

Teri Quinn

My name is Teri Quinn and I have been the Marketing Director at FeraDyne Outdoors for over 10 years now. Prior to starting my job in the outdoor industry, I had no hunting experience of any sort. And to be honest, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to, but I’m so thankful I made the jump!

I was hesitant to work in a male dominated industry with no real outdoor experience, but the beauty of this industry is that it is welcoming! Now, from time to time, you may have an unpleasant encounter, but they are few and far between – and that happens in all areas of life.

If you are thinking about becoming a hunter, or becoming involved in the outdoors at all, I highly encourage it! American Daughters of Conservation is a group of ladies that is dedicated to conservation and inspiring women to be active in the outdoors. If you’re looking for like-minded women, this is the place. I joined ADC in 2019 and have been on so many amazing hunting and fishing adventures since. All skill levels are welcome, and the ladies are ultra-supportive so it’s really nice as far as easing into new territory goes! I recruit new ladies to this group as often as I can because it has been so helpful to me.

Working for a bowhunting accessory company has taught me a lot about bowhunting and one of my favorite things to do is spend time with women who have strength in the gun and fishing industries so we can exchange knowledge and learn from each other. My advice to anyone in the outdoor world, or looking to join it, is just do it. Be confident and go for it.

Teri Quinn is one of the women in the outdoors we are proud to celebrate for International Women's Day.
