How to Remove the Impulse Bolt
The innovative Savage Impulse provides hunters and shooters alike with the speed and reliability of a straight pull rifle. The Impulse gets its speed by its bolt release technology and by removing two of the four steps required to cycle a traditional bolt. With this new fast and easy way to cycle your rifle, removing the bolt should be just as easy. Please read on below for a step-by-step guide on how to remove the Impulse bolt quickly and safely.
MODELS
WARNING! Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Make sure your firearm is completely unloaded and ensure that your workspace is void of ammunition at all times. The safety should be set to the Full Safe position.
IMPULSE BOLT REMOVAL
- Place the safety selector into the full safe position.
- Remove the magazine.
- Open the bolt by pressing the Quick Bolt Release.
- Pull the bolt handle partially to the rear.
- Hold the left-hand bolt release forward while pulling the bolt to the rear to remove.
- To reinstall, ensure the bolt handle is in the cocked position (Ball bearings will be retracted and move freely) and that the bolt release button is facing upward.
- If ball bearings do not move freely, you must disengage Hexlock first.
- Insert the bolt and fully lock its handle forward.
- Reinstall the magazine.
