Savage Arms: American Heritage

Honoring the Heritage

Innovation in rifle design was the hallmark to the beginning of Savage Arms. The Model 99 lever action rifle was far ahead of its time, with a rotary magazine and action that could utilize the more powerful, modern, and new spitzer style bullets and cartridges of the time. The Model 99 became one of the most iconic hunting rifles of all time, with millions carried afield by hunters seeking adventure from the mountains of the west to the deep woods of the east. 

In the late 1950s, the Model 110 would emerge as a bolt action rifle that brought accuracy and precision to the masses. Built to be accurate and affordable, the Model 110 brought forth innovations like the floating bolt head and barrel nut system to help ensure a reliable, robust, and accurate action and barrel combination. The Model 110 is the longest continually manufactured bolt action rifle in production today, and has brought forth innovations like the AccuTrigger, AccuStock, AccuFit, and the new AccuFit V2 system to give hunters and shooters more reliability, more safety, and even more accuracy potential than ever before.

Innovation, grit, and determination have driven us throughout our history. Looking to the Future

Reflecting on the past is important, but it's the future that we're most excited about. Innovation will continue to be the most important part of our philosophy, shaping everything we do here at Savage. From the new AccuFit V2 stock, to the Impulse straight pull action and Renegauge's D.R.I.V. gas system, we've had plenty of great innovations lately, and we're not stopping any time soon. We'll continue to adapt, innovate, and push forward to give the Savage community of hunters and shooters the most accurate, best fitting, and best value firearms on the market. From the diehard deer hunters to the precision shooting competitors, and everyone in between, we'll continue to make Savage firearms that help you stand out and stand up above the rest.
