How To Remove the Bolt in a Savage B.MAG

It's important for us at Savage to help our users understand their rifles. The Savage B.MAG is a unique rifle and incorporates features that you may not be familiar with. It's important to keep your firearm working and in proper repair. The steps outlined below will walk you through how to remove the bolt in your Savage B.MAG in order to properly clean and inspect your rifle.

Whenever cleaning or working on your firearm, be sure that it is fully unloaded and clear of ammunition. Safety should be your #1 concern while around firearms. 

Models:

• All B.MAG models

Removal Steps:

1. Check to make sure your firearm is unloaded and safely remove the magazine
2. Place the safety into the SAFE position. However, the bolt can be removed with the safety in either position. 
3. Open the bolt to the fully upward position
4. Depress the bolt release on the left side of the receiver
5. Pull the bolt rearward and remove

Reinstallation Steps:

1. Hold the bolt so the bolt release slot is aligned with the bolt release on the receiver

1. Reinsert the bolt and push the bolt fully forward
2. Close the bolt by pushing the bolt handle downward
3. Return the safety to SAFE and reinstall the magazine
